Why Quail?
A little bird with a place at the heart of Covey. We chose quail for its animal protein, naturally occurring nutrients, and the variety it brings to the bowl.
- Animal protein: Quail supplies protein and amino acids used to maintain and repair body tissues.
- Naturally occurring nutrients: Quail meat contains iron, zinc, and B vitamins, including vitamin B12.
- Variety in the bowl: A different poultry option for families looking beyond chicken or turkey.
These are qualities of the quail ingredient. Nutrient amounts and suitability depend on the finished recipe; follow each product’s label for feeding directions and nutritional adequacy.
The whole-quail approach
Our raw quail brings ground meat, bones, internal organs, and feathers together in a single-ingredient blend. Different tissues contribute different nutrients; whole prey alone does not establish complete and balanced nutrition.
Ingredients & natural variation
Ground whole quail with bones, feathers, and internal organs. Feather pieces and variations in color, texture, and grind are normal for this whole-prey product. Package sizes and bulk-box weights refer to the total net food weight; packaging is not included.
Feeding & nutritional adequacy
This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. It is not a complete and balanced diet and should not be used as the sole diet for cats or dogs. Use alongside a complete and balanced food appropriate for your pet. Whole quail alone does not establish that all nutrient requirements are met. Cats require adequate taurine and other essential nutrients; adding taurine alone does not make this grind a balanced diet. Always provide fresh water.
Storage & raw-food handling
Keep frozen. Thaw in the refrigerator, not on the counter. Follow the package label for use after thawing. Keep raw food separate from human food. Wash hands thoroughly and clean and disinfect bowls, utensils, and surfaces after handling. Refrigerate uneaten portions promptly or discard them safely. Contains ground bone; do not cook.
Raw pet food may contain harmful bacteria, including Salmonella and Listeria, that can cause illness in pets and people. Freezing does not reliably eliminate these bacteria. Keep away from children and use extra caution in households with pregnant people, older adults, or anyone with a weakened immune system. Not for human consumption.
Frozen delivery & receiving your order
Frozen orders use insulated packaging and dry ice. Retrieve your shipment promptly and place the food in the freezer. If dry ice remains, avoid bare-skin contact and allow it to dissipate in a well-ventilated area away from children and pets. If the shipment arrives warm or its condition is uncertain, do not feed it; contact us with your order number and photos.
Monthly subscription option
The 25 lb raw quail box is $500.00 for a one-time purchase or $450.00 per monthly subscription delivery (save 10%). If selected at checkout, recurring charges continue monthly until canceled. Shipping is charged for each delivery; applicable taxes are additional. Subscription timing is a delivery frequency, not a guarantee that the box is a nutritionally complete month of food or the right quantity for every pet. Manage, pause, skip, or cancel future orders through your subscription account before the next charge is processed. Changes do not reverse orders already processed.
